My Man Godfrey

Irene is obsessed with Godfrey. To the point I wonder if the writers of the script intentionally chose a name with God in it.

My observations:

A bit of a cringefest but endearing nonetheless. The mother, father, and the mother’s protégée are absolutely hilarious.

Sibling rivalry on a whole other realm.

Heiress not receiving attention for 0.00002184 seconds: “Life is but an empty bubble.” [dramatic sigh]

Mother’s spoiled lap dog Pomeranian with pink bows.

Cornelia is the ultimate Karen- with elegance of course.

His eyebrows are better than mine.

This is the second William Powell film I have seen and he plays the same character in both: a butler who uses his knowledge and becomes very successful. Interesting trope!
